The Pros and Cons

This past weekend I went down to Lake Conroe for the annual "Birthday Weekend"/Memorial Wkd extravaganza and I had lots of time to think. I had many sudden realizations while floating peacefully in the water, ok, so it was more like bobbing relentlessly in the choppy waves due to all the traffic on the lake b/c of the holiday weekend! Some of my top realizations were, in no particular order or level of importance....

Are there lakes in London......no, not like this, crap!

Who will cook me copious amounts of scrumptious, gourmet delights.....not John Gayle, he doesn't live in London, crap!

Do they have Miller Lite in London.....no, probably not, but they do have lots of delicious non-lite beers, now I'll just be fat, crap!

Do they have the same pasteurization standards for milk in London, what if it doesn't taste the same....thankfully Alissa assured me they do!

So since I'm an eternal optimist I'll get by knowing that I probably won't get a sunburn like the one I have right now while in London and my milk will still taste just the same and that's all I really need :)

Today I'm heading to Houston for baby showers, housewarming parties, little gym with my niece and yet another goodbye party...then off to London on Sunday to find a flat to call my own!

The Beginning of the End

So I've never really considered myself a writer and much less a "blogger" but I've decided to give it a try over the next couple of years while I'm in London, and hopefully traveling all over!  So y'all will have to excuse me if it takes me a while to get this whole thing down or if I just have nothing interesting to say at all, which I hope is not the case!

As my time in Dallas/Texas/USA is nearing a temporary (added for the solace of my mom and sister) end my goodbyes have already started.  First was a family weekend at the lake with my Dad's side of the family, everyone was able to make it and we had such a great weekend!

Next Courtney and I flew to NYC for a long weekend to celebrate mine and Melissa's birthdays and have one last "hoorah" before I make the move.  It was a perfect New York weekend full of food, shopping, karaoke, Central Park and even a burlesque show!

It is such a sad yet exciting time for me, although I usually don't tend to pick up on the magnitude of things like this until after the fact so I am sure to have a major meltdown at some point in the near future.  Stay tuned on that one....
